Interior Wall Designs

Interior wall designs often get left out in the rush to get the furniture arranged. That shouldn’t be the case however. Finely decorated walls can do as much for a room as other expensive furniture.

Decorating Walls with Wall Hooks

Wall hooks and other detachable wall hanging products are excellent choices. One of the advantages of using wall hooks is they don’t damage the wall or leave traces behind. By attaching these hooks, you can easily hang gadgets, collectibles and other items on your wall. You can find these hooks at any local hardware store.

Art and Framed Posters

Beautifully framed family photos provide warmth and that at-home feeling. For the children’s room, you can put posters of their favorite animated and movie characters.

Even if it’s the children’s room, there’s no need to scrimp on the design. To make the interior wall design consistent, frame the posters in the same color as the pictures in the other rooms.

Use Display Shelves

Thoughtfully placed shelves can be used as wall decors too. When putting on the shelves, add variety to the book heights and shelf spaces. Look at the shelves in an S pattern. This will give you an idea if the arrangement is correct. Aside from books, you can put other items on the shelves as well. These will add visual interest to the arrangement.

Starch Wallpapering and Fabrics

Using fabric as wallpaper will give you versatility. This will let you make textures to cover up those unsightly walls.

Folding Screens

Folding screens will give your walls texture even if you don’t hang anything there. There are many styles available, from the modern to chrome. There are also Shoji screens for those who prefer an Asian motif. These can be used anywhere, but are most ideal for studio apartments. They add not just style but also divide the area.

Notes on Hanging Artwork

Most like to hang art 60 to 65 inches from the ground. This isn’t always going to work however. When hanging art, you must consider the other elements around it. Whether you hang the piece by the couch or hallway, the existing features have to be accounted for. In other words, you have to look beyond the wall.

Getting the interior wall designs right requires coordinating the colors, wall accessories and overall look of the room. Taking these into account will produce coherently designed and eye-catching walls.
